Introducing the New Actros L
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has unveiled the new Actros L, rolling it off the production line at the Wörth facility. Equipped with the aerodynamically refined ProCabin driver’s cab, the truck boasts a modern design, exceptional efficiency, and comfort-focused innovations. The first model produced, a Crystal Green Metallic Actros L 1848 LS 4×2, exemplifies the premium standards of the new series.
Key Features of the Actros L
The Actros L is designed with the future in mind, showcasing cutting-edge vehicle design and advanced aerodynamics that deliver up to 3% fuel savings. The optimized powertrain enhances acceleration on inclines and provides superior maneuverability at low speeds. Additionally, the reduced engine speed at 80 km/h ensures a quieter and more comfortable driving experience.
Safety and driving assistance systems have also been upgraded with state-of-the-art technology. The improved driver’s cabin offers maximum comfort for long-haul journeys, while its aerodynamic enhancements further boost fuel efficiency.
Wörth Factory: A Flexible Production Hub
The Wörth factory is a versatile production facility capable of manufacturing both diesel-powered and electric trucks on the same production line. This flexibility allows the plant to swiftly adapt to varying market demands while maintaining high-quality standards.
Since its establishment in 1963, the Wörth factory has produced 4.4 million trucks. In addition to the Actros, the facility manufactures the Arocs and Atego series, as well as specialty trucks like the Unimog and Zetros. In 2021, the factory began producing the electric eActros series, cementing its role as a strategic hub for Daimler Truck.
A Vision for the Future
With the Actros L, Mercedes-Benz aims to lead in both traditional diesel and electric vehicle technologies. The Wörth factory remains a cornerstone of this vision, continuing to drive innovation and excellence in truck production. By combining advanced design, cutting-edge technology, and flexible manufacturing capabilities, Mercedes-Benz is shaping the future of commercial transportation.
